Software Engineer · UC Berkeley EECS ’24 · Bay Area

I design, ship, and run software people use every day.

From a 3D design studio for living ecosystems to the operational backbone of a multi-location business — I build complete systems end to end: product thinking, engineering, deployment, and the unglamorous work of keeping them alive. My range runs from silicon to software: I've fabricated chips in a cleanroom and I own a solar plant.

Inventory Ordering System

Ops tooling

Tablet-based supply ordering with three PIN-gated roles, per-role language and permissions, smart routing to spreadsheet tabs, and messenger-ready order summaries — on a zero-cost serverless backend.

Tip Distribution Engine

Payroll / finance

Turns nightly tip pools into payroll-ready numbers: weighted allocation across a role-tagged roster, two-tier access control, dedicated print formats, period reports, and cross-device sync.

Online Ordering Platform

E-commerce

End-to-end pickup ordering: SMS phone verification, Stripe checkout, a combo-menu builder, and an admin panel for managing the catalog and incoming orders.

About

range × depth

Most engineers ship software and hand it off. I ship it, then answer for it — every day, to real users.

Berkeley EECS by training, builder by default. I build with AI as my pair programmer — I own the product design, architecture decisions, hands-on testing of every build, deployment, and operations, and I make direct code edits where it counts. On the hardware side, the work is all my own hands: NMOS chips fabricated and characterized in a cleanroom, a RISC-V CPU built from the ALU up, custom PCs assembled for clients since 2017. The common thread: everything I build gets used, in production, by people who aren't developers. That shapes how I engineer — simple systems over clever ones, resilience over novelty.

Off hours: I keep a bioactive vivarium — home to a frog I've raised for over four years — and I'm culturing springtails and moss on the way to my first aquascape. VivaBuild exists because I'm my own first user. I also follow AI and semiconductor markets with a multi-year, domain-first investing thesis.

A

Solar Power Plant — Owner & Operator

Energy · Self-employed

Own and operate a mid-scale 350kWh solar facility in South Korea, selling generation to KEPCO. Seasonal panel-angle optimization and ongoing maintenance for energy efficiency.

2016 — present
B

Custom PC Builder

Hardware · Self-employed

Consulting and custom builds for individuals and small businesses — needs assessment, component selection to budget, and precision assembly balancing performance and aesthetics.

2017 — present
C

Hardware Projects — UC Berkeley

EE143 / CS61C

Fabricated and characterized NMOS chips on silicon wafers in a cleanroom (photolithography, doping, metallization; Nanospec and four-point probe measurement). Built a functional RISC-V CPU in Logisim from the ALU and register file up.

Capabilities

the toolkit

Product & systems

  • Requirements → shipped product, end to end
  • System & UX design for non-technical users
  • Data & rules modeling — species compatibility, payroll allocation
  • Iteration driven by real-user feedback

Development

  • AI-augmented builds — I spec, direct, test, and verify
  • Hands-on HTML / CSS / JS edits & debugging
  • Deployment — GitHub Pages, custom DNS, SSL
  • Coursework foundations in C / C++ / Python / Java

Hardware

  • Circuit analysis & soldering
  • Cleanroom microfabrication — NMOS on silicon
  • RISC-V CPU build (Logisim)
  • Custom PC builds since 2017

Run

  • Production ops for two real businesses
  • Access control, payroll & inventory workflows
  • Bilingual UI & staff onboarding
  • Solo maintenance — if it breaks, I fix it

Let's build something that lasts.

If you're looking for an engineer who takes ownership past the merge — someone whose software is depended on daily — I'd love to talk.
